As part of the Generation Europe – The Academy network, our local group from Florence has taken a practical approach to this question. It was the largest youth welfare summit in Europe: The German Child and Youth Welfare Congress (DJHT) took place at the Leipzig Trade Fair, and ended with a record number of 30,000 visitors. A delegation from the network of Generation Europe – The Academy was also on site to present our approach of combining local participatory youth empowerment with European networking.

The local youth group organised by the Federico Ozanam Foundation used the European Action Week to prepare a theatre performance to reflect about their experience as racialised people living in Spain. The title of their collective creation: “Instructions for peeling a Durain”. Now the perfomance has premiered at Museo del Fuego in Zaragoza.
