Verse & Vision is a youth exchange project that brought together three organisations from the network of Generation Europe – The Academy: Kids in Action (Greece), DUGA (Ukraine) and Witer e.V. (Germany). Contacts and friendships that were formed during Generation Europe Youth Leader Tranings lied the foundation for this remarkeble cooperation. The three organisations have jointly developed a set of tools and methods using art to remain resilient in difficult times – and produced really impressive artworks!
During the project, young people from Ukraine, Germany and Greece came together in Weimar to explore the city’s cultural heritage. The idea of the encounter: Engaging with culture and history can open up new ways of approaching the here and now, helping us to navigate the world more effectively. The international group has demonstrated this by exploring the texts of Goethe and Schiller, Bauhaus art and the ideas of the Romantic era.
Meaningful Video Art
It’s easy to romanticise life when everything is sorted. But what if the world you are living in is chaotic and turbulent? How to enjoy the everyday life, how to find moments of joy and happinnes in this case? The participants shaped their reflections into different artistic formats from video to installations. You can watch some of the impressive videos here:

The project partners also presented some of the project outcomes during the Generation Europe Project Planning Conference in Hattingen, Germnay, to showcase the results and open the discussion on the importance of art as a tool for resilience for young people with fewer opportunities.

This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme. The views expressed are those of the participants and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union.
