Ready for the 2024 Youth Encounters

From Tenerife to Finland, from Portugal to Hungary: the more than 40 youth organisations and local groups in the network of Generation Europe – The Academy are turning the summer of 2024 into a great summer of European cooperation again. From the end of June to the beginning of September, they are organising a total of 14 international youth encounters in eleven European countries.

It all starts on 29 June, more than 1,500 kilometres away from mainland Europe, when the youth groups from Nordhausen/Germany and Krzyżowa/Poland visit their Canary Islands project partners in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife. The young people from the three countries have already been working together for more than two years and supporting each other in their local projects. Following international meetings in Poland and Germany, the return visit to the Canary Island is now on the agenda. In workshops and projects, the young people will focus on the topics of democratic self-organisation, civil courage and the effects of mass tourism and climate change on the Canary Islands.

This will be followed by a total of 13 further trilateral youth encounters in Portugal, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Greece and Italy. As diverse as the individual topics and projects may be, the common goal is: more exchange and mutual peer-to-peer support from active young people for their European project partners. We wish everyone involved all the best and lots of success!
