On May 9th, SMouTh, the local project partner of Generation Europe – The Academy in Larissa, Greece, will host an event at the Diachronic Museum of Larissa. Together with the Museum and their Association of Friends, the local Group of Generation Europe is going to present creative ways to use and preserve local cultural heritage.
The event is part of the decentralised Europe Day Festival of the European Cultural Foundation. It will showcase the outcomes of the a project named Spiritus Loci, which is a collaboration between SMouTh and other organisations from five EU countries. While representatives from the Diachronic Museum will guide participants in exploring the history their city, the local group of Generation Europe – The Academy will present, distribute and discuss the MAKE USE map they produced. More than 60 stakeholders (youths, teachers, educators, archeologists, cultural workers, artists etc) are expected to take part.
For the local group, the event is a valuable part of the concept development for their Generation Europe youth encounter, that will take place this summer from 23 June to 4 July in Larissa. In these days, 31 young artists and activists from Greece, Italy and Germany will meet and approach artistically the concepts of diachrony and synchrony and their role for civic awareness and responsibility. We wish everyone involved lots of fun, great experiences and success!
