Youth Work in Europe – Mission (im)possible? Register Now!

Youth work in Europe is facing unprecedented challenges. Shortage of skilled workers, overwork, underfunding and massive bureaucratic hurdles have characterised the working field for years. In addition, the current crises not only affect organisations and professionals, but especially the situation of young people. For example, the rate of early school leavers in Europe has almost doubled. At the same time, the social importance of youth work and political education cannot be overestimated in times of weakened, sometimes even dysfunctional democracies.

Organisations, professionals, young people, academia, administration and politics from all over Europe need to network in order to analyse the problems and jointly develop solutions. For this reason, we are organising an international symposium in an unusual format: in addition to multipliers from different fields, youth work professionals and young people from ten European countries have already confirmed their participation. With their local youth groups, they are active in the network “Generation Europe – The Academy” and want to report on their experiences and talk to you at the event. Together, the symposium can be the start of a larger European campaign to improve the conditions of youth work.

That’s why we are inviting you to discuss the situation with us and work on strategies for the future:
